You can browse all manuscript collections by clicking “Collections” in the menu. Clicking “Objects” in the menu allows you to browse all individually cataloged items in the database, including primarily photographs and artifacts, as well as some documents and ephemera.
To conduct a basic search, use the search bar in the top right corner of the page. This performs a search across all fields in both Collection and Object records. Once you perform a basic search, you can choose whether to filter results from Collection or Object records.
Click the “Advanced Search” link, located under search bar in the top right corner of the page, to search by specific fields, such as People/Organizations, Date, or Material. Here you can choose whether to search Object or Collection records.
Narrow your search results by using filters. Select these from the column to the right of your search results.
Sort search results by date, title, or identifier using the sort bar at the top of the results.
Download search results from the gear icon at the top of the results. Results can be downloaded as either an Excel spreadsheet or checklist.
Click on the account icon in the top right corner of the page to login or register an account and access additional site features:
If you have a question about an object, or wish to purchase an image, click “ASK A CURATOR / REQUEST AN IMAGE” under the object image.
