Description
A printed image of The Breakers (1895), most likely removed from a Newport Casino Bulletin (1920). Image depicts the house's Ochre Point Avenue entrance, including gates and a tree-lined driveway. Caption at bottom reads: "Mattie E. Hewitt, N.Y. The Elaborate Gateway provides an appropriate introduction to 'The Breakers,'/the Residence of Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt". Caption indicates that the image was published after the death of Cornelius Vanderbilt II in 1899. Four advertisements are found on reverse; one reads "SEASON OF 1920".
