Date1707 – 1751
Inscribed rock originally from Brenton's Point and bears the words: "Beleve in Christ & Live in No Sin." According to Edmund Burke Delabarre's book, "Dighton rock; a study of the written rocks of New England," 1928, Ezra Stiles attributed the inscription to the Rev. Nathaniel Clapp. Rock is currently situated in the yard at the Newport Historical Society headquarters.
