Plate at front of helmet reads"AERIAL TRUCK 1 NF[D]"; plate is comprised of sewn white, red, and black components. Metal bar attaching plate to helmet body is engraved with an emblem with a ladder and fire hydrant; center reads "FD". The name "W.A. LEYS" is painted under the brim. A metal printed manufacturer's label (Cairns & Brother) is affixed to interior; a cloth lining with a drawstring is is sewn to interior (labeled "Cairns Sanitary Cushion Liner"). Metal loop is affixed to under side of brim.
