Description
A photograph depicting the exterior of the Newport Casino (1879-1881), the King Block (1892-1893), and Bellevue Avenue. The Casino, closest to foreground, has several large gables, a detailed shingled exterior, wooden carvings, and striped awnings. The King Block, just beyond, is also comprised of several gables but is made of brick. Carriages are seen driving by on a dirt-paved Bellevue Avenue, which is covered by a canopy of trees. The photograph was taken prior to the construction of the Audrain Building (1902-03).
