Description
A copy of "Newport and Its Scenery," a book of lithographs by John Collins published in Burlington, New Jersey (1857). Includes introductory text describing images. Inscription on first page reads: "A Birthday Gift/to/my beloved nephew Theodore H. Morris/from his Aunt Mary Anna/10 mo. 10th. 1857." Lithographs depict of a map of Newport ("...and Vicinity"), a view of Newport Harbor, the Colony House, the Old Stone Mill, the Great Friends Meeting House, "The Glen," the Ocean House, "Rocks near Purgatory," Easton's Beach, The Reefs, Chateau-sur-Mer, Spouting Rock, Fort Adams, and Lily Pond.
