A mid- to late-19th century military canteen. Made of metal with a small spout at top. A plain weave brown strap runs around circumference of canteen through metal tabs; strap is knotted near base, and is repaired in several locations. A chain with a ring (stopper missing) hangs from one side. A few black and red paint spots throughout.
