Note is printed with images of allegorical figures standing near an American flag, and an eagle below below text reading "INCORPORATED 1804." Other text on banknote reads: "Newport, R.I. Jan. 10th 1865/THE RHODE ISLAND UNION BANK/Will pay ONE DOLLAR to bearer." The note is signed by J. Coggeshall ("Cash.") and William Cozzens ("Pres.").
