Description
A child's dress made of an off-white printed cotton. Believed by the donor's family to date to c. 1825. Made of a bodice with capped sleeves attached to a waistband and skirt. Cartridge pleating on both sides of waistband, at neckline, and at sleeves. Fastens at center back with three white buttons, one of which pulls through a loop. Bodice is lined at sides. Fabric has a repeating print including dots and stylized flowers in brown and lavender. A printed tape (in similar colors) shows a repeat paisley design at waistband and hem. Two repairs (left front skirt and right front side seam).
