Description
A black and white photograph depicting Goat Island and Newport wharves prior to redevelopment. At photograph top, Goat Island is seen with its U.S. Navy buildings still intact. The center is comprised of large industrial buildings, most for the manufacture of torpedos. At far left, a row of houses can be seen. At photograph bottom, several wide wharves can be seen projecting into the harbor from Newport. Both land masses are outlined in adhesive tape.
