Description
Framed needlework sampler. Faded, remaining colors are: blue, green, purple, yellow, orange, black and white. Upper portion of sampler is the alphabet and numbers followed by a section of stylized flowers followed by the saying: 'The Loss Of A Father Is Much. The Loss Of A Mother Is More. The Loss Of Christ Is Such A Loss No Man Can Restore'. The saying is followed by a section of flowers and birds, then another saying: 'This Needlework Of Mine Can Tell When A Child I Learned Well, And By My Parents I Was Taught Not To Spend My Time For Naught. Content Brayton Aged 12, April 10th 1770 NS.' At the bottom of the sampler are flowers and berries.
