Description
Green rubbing of Phillis Stevens tombstone. Central top image is of an angel flanked by criss-crossing arrows. Serpentine flower and vine pattern carved into finials. In memory of Phillis a late faithful servant of Josiah Lyndon, Esq. and wife of Zingo Stevens who died March 9 ad 1773 aged about 27 years. Also prince their son who died March 22 1773, aged 2 mo. And 27 days. Life how short! Eternity how long'. A label with the number five written on it is on the back of the rubbing. Tombstone located in the Common Burial Ground, Newport, RI.
