Description
Reddish/ brown rubbing of Captain Nathaniel Waldron's tombstone. Rubbing has been done in two parts: the larger part (a) and the smaller part (b) which reads 'cut By John Stevens Jr.'. On rubbing a the central top image is of a bust of a man flanked by criss-crossing arrows. Border design is of two human figures standing on pedestals and holding vases. Coming out of the vases is a flower and leaf motif the fills the border of the tombstone.

Epitaph reads: 'In Memory Of Cpt. Nathaniel Waldron Who Departed This Life Janueary The 26th Ad 1769 In The 27th Year Of His Age/ Life How Short! Eternity How Long/ cut by John Stevens Jr.' written in pen on back of rubbing b is 'Ken And Justine Wells, Rubbed 1976, Back Of Captain Nathaniel Waldron'. The gravestone is located in the Common Burial Ground, Newport, RI.
