Description
Dark blue silk slippers with square toe and blue embroidery and tassel on top of foot. Leather sole with engraved design. Worn by Nancy Clarke Fowler at the age of 12 when she danced with General George Washington at a ball given in his honor by the French General Rochambeau at Newport March, 1781.
