Description
A black and white photograph of the Newport Steam Mill and Aquidneck Mill. The Steam Mill (1831) is situated closer to the foreground. It is made of stone, and has three stories of 24-pane windows. Toward the center is a tower with a wooden cupola. Further behind the Steam Mill is the Aquidneck Mill(1865). It has more detailed woodwork along its roofline, and is made of brick. Both buildings are located along Howard Wharf; a view of Howard Street and its houses can be seen in the background beyond the tree at the corner.
