Negative, Glass Plate

Object number
P5934
Date
circa 1914
Description
A glass plate negative depicting Miramar under construction. The house was built between 1912 and 1914 by architect Horace Trumbauer. At the time the image was taken, the house was nearing completion. The general form of the house and details such as a balustrade at roofline are visible. Scaffolding covers most of the elevation shown, and most window frames appear to be either empty or boarded. The only greenery on the property (besides the lawn) appears to be a few trees at left.
