The portion of the cottage in view is three stories, and includes a clapboarded exterior, windows with shutters, and two chimneys. A second portion of the house, to the left, is obscured from view by a large pine tree. A porch extends across the width of the front of the building. Other buildings along the street can be seen to the left and right of the frame. (Originally, part of Pine Lodge was built before 1883, and that portion was eventually combined with another to form the house pictured).
