Description
A glass plate negative depicting a house located at the northwest corner of Catherine and Brinley Streets (20 Catherine Street). The house was designed by architect Dudley Newton, and was built by David King for William Birkhead (1872). Features of the house include a mansard-style roof, dormered windows, and a front porch which extends the width of the facade shown. The property is framed by several trees, and is bordered by a fence and sidewalk at foreground. Another streetscape can be seen through the trees at right.
