Description
Navy blue wool coat with five 1 in. silver NFD (Newport Fire Department) buttons down front. Two smaller 5/8 in. NFD buttons on each sleeve. All button are decorated with NFD surrounded by laurel wreathes. Coat is lined with black fabric. Sleeves are lined with ribbed dark blue twill. Two pockets inside the breast are faced with same navy wool as outside of the jacket. Two rows of decorative top stitching 3/8 in. apart around collar, front plackets, and sleeve ends. Piece of paper with the numbers "17572" printed in black safety pinned on the inside of the coat on the PR pocket. Safety pin and paper removed and stored with garment. Two labels inside PR pocket.
