Tall black fire bucket, ochre-painted, rolled rim, rigid u-shaped leather handle; ochre painted identification: 'No 2/ Joshua Hammond/ 1801'. Similar to 97.29.5. J. Hammond's youngest son born in Newport in 1802; given in memory of Clarence C. Thurston, great great grandson of Joshua Hammond.
