Description
A: Slender steel sword marked on blade: 'Zenas L. Hammond/ Aquidneck Encampt'; black painted wooden grip, gilt guard and finial w/ high relief depictions of symbols associated with 100F; double chain from finial to one end of guard, letters IOOF worked into guard decoration.

B: Gilt scabbard has flat flange at bottom, two hanging rings at top; decorated with raised images associated with IOOF. Blade marked with Clauberg/ Solingen; Sword: Schuyler, Hartley & Graham, NY.

Presented in memory of Clarence C. Thurston, great grandson of Zenas L. Hammond 1796-1881.
