Ribs of the fan are hand carved wood in natural color. The body is hand painted peacock feathers. The background is white with red, blue and green with gold overlay and leaves. The silk tassel has a red cord with an intricate knot in blue and the tassel is white. Box covering is very colorful with winter figures. The same box holds 95.17.6 also. Box is marked "Mandel Brothers Chicago".
