Description
Exhibition Boat Model of the cutter; "Kelpie". Black one-masted cutter with two booms, one hatch at bow and another leading onto the hole where the horseshoe-shaped seat is. Wooden tiller at stern. Boat is painted white below the waterline; rudder is white.

Plaque inside case reads: "Cutter 'Kelpie' adapted from an Itchen Ferry Boat by Edward Burgess. Owned by Max Agassiz. Built in 1881 by George Lawley, model by Max Agassiz. 27 ft. 6 in. W.l. scale 3/8".
