Description
Wooden, painted black on one side, unpainted on the other. Made of two pieces of wood, joined near arrow end. Used in Liberty Loan campaign in 1918 to indicate amount of money raised. Displayed over the dial of the Colony House for that purpose. Inscribed in pencil on back (barely legible) "Hand that pointed to $2,000,000 from the (....) Rhode Island Independence Day May 14, 1918 .... Over the step where Major Handy read the Declaration of Independence 1776" "July 4, 1876".
