Head is made of glazed stuffed cloth. Face features painted violet eyes and red lips, nostrils, eyebrows. Black thread hair with flowers and ornaments on head. Body is stuffed cloth. Limbs feature separated fingers and abnormal toes. Doll is wearing multi-colored silk native Japanese kimono with dominant colors of purple, red, gold, and orange. Made in Japan. Tag reading: "Japanese doll, present to Emily C. Yarnell, wife of Admiral Harry E. Yarnell, U.S.N., by Commander of the Japanese Third Fleet. February 25, 1938".
