Description
Simple silver ladle; coffin-shaped handle with arrow detail at base; delicate engraved initials: "NRC". Marked with "B.H. Tisdale" enclosed in an oval. Ladle belonged to Nathaniel Coggeshall of Newport. Initials probably stand for Nathaniel and Rebecca, his wife. Nathaniel and Rebecca were married in Newport in 1795, still living here in 1812.
