Description
Part of a Chinese export porcelain dinner service, from the collection of Governor and Mrs. Charles C. VanZandt, and formerly belonging to Gov. William Bradford and Gov. Charles Collins. From an appraisal done in 1961 (see accession folder) assessed as "late 18th century." Set has dark Fitzhugh borders, enhanced with gilded pear head rim, eclosing landscape vignettes, river views, and versions of the old India willow pattern.
