Model of Block Island double end boat. Original boat was 24 feet long by 11 feet wide. Model is open with two masts. Blunt shaped bow. Painted gray bench in stern section. Yellow and white diagonally striped sales are narrow at the head. Foresail has no boom. The sides are built high. Boat is painted red below the waterline, green at the waterline, and black at the highest point with yellow trim. Rudder is green and red. Carried mail in 1840. Block Island double enders were famous for their sturdiness.
