Portrait of Governor Charles Collins Van Zandt (1830-1894). Half-length protrait facing right; sitting in red chair holding a piece of paper in his left hand. The right fist rests on the arm of the chair; short hair, a mustache and bushy sideburns. He is wearing a black suit, white shirt and a thin black bowtie. He was Governor of Rhode Island from 1877-1880. This painting is listed in a log of James Sullivan Lincoln's work, but this work is unsigned.
