Sailing ship has American flag with 16 stars at stern, brownish water; underneath "The Hercules Courtenay of Newport, Captain Henry Hudson, 1802"; black frame. Ship was owned by Newport firm, Gibbs and Channing; was captured on a voyage to Spain in 1801 by Barbary privaters, but later released.
