Description
Sweater, natural wool, long-sleeved with high collar, monogram "VIM" in blue cotton floss. Stockinette stitch overall, with ribbed collar and cuffs, turned hem. Machine knit, full fashioned. Nametag at neck: "H. S. Vanderbilt." The VIM was a 12-meter boat owned and raced by Harold Vanderbilt around 1939. Later owned by Matthews, VIM was an America's Cup contender in 1958.
