Wooden pattern for cutting glove fabric or leather. Pattern is symmetrical with three fingers on each side and a wider rectangle in the center which, when the pattern is folded and sewn, would be the index finger. Prior exhibit label is glued to the back.
From log, 1931: probable date 1805. Miss Anna C. Clapp, daughter of Sarah Westgate Clapp, a direct descendant of the James Westgate family of Newport, a branch of which were glovers.
