Eagle, wooden, painted gold. Originally sat on gateposts of Metcalf Bowler Estate in Portsmouth before the Revolution, later hung on buildings of United States Hotel, Townsend's Coffee House, Hammett's Bookstore, and Fitch and Engs Hardware Store.
