Description
Made of mahogany wood. Sarcophagus-type hood, arched pediment with half-round columns in front, quarter-round columns in rear, three flame finials (added); burl veneer on hood, pediment, door and base. Base has been shortened and Victorian paw-type feet added. Brass dial with fleur de lis between numbers, cast spandrels of female masks and arabesques in corners. Square aperture shows date, small dial for seconds, medium sized dial shows date, round aperture shows phases of the moon.
On the inside of the door is family history referencing the exchange of the clock for medical services by Dr. Vigneron.
