Photograph of Torpedo Boars in new slips from May 22, 1899. In the background, there are two overnight steamers to New York, the Pilgram and Plymouth. The only information available on new slips is the following from a history of the Naval Torpedo Station: "New slips were constructed at the Northend of the Island for the accommodation of torpedo boats—1903."
