Undated photograph of "Brick Market," located on Thames Street by J. Rugen of 295 Thames Street. This location was used as Newport's City Hall from 1842-1900. Construction began in 1762 and was completed after major delays in 1772 by Peter Harrison, one of the first formally trained American architects.
