Description
Photograph of the ferryboat steamer Dumpling docked in Jamestown. Built in 1887, the Dumpling was in service sailing passengers from Jamestown to Newport until 1893. The Dumpling was originally built as a pleasure boat before it was purchased by The Dumpling Company, a subsidiary of the Ocean Highlands Company with summer resident stakeholders who sought to better transportation into Aquidneck Island.
