Photograph of Miss. Annie Whitmore sitting in a horse-drawn phaeton carriage with a child and an adult male outside of Chateau-sur-Mer. There is a dog sitting in the doorway, and two women, one appearing to be a maid, watching from the window. Chateau-sur-Mer was built in 1852 for merchant William Shepard Wetmore, and served as the pinnacle of opulent Newport mansions until the 1890s construction of various mansions for the Vanderbilt family.
