Continuation of minutes from a quarterly meeting of the African Humane Society on May 12, 1808. Page also includes minutes from an annual meeting of the African Humane Society convened at the house of Ceasar Wanton on August 11, 1808. After the contributions were collected, the Society examined the Treasury and determined the total amount in the Treasury was $139.11. Minutes include an inventory of the types and amounts of bills and coins in the Treasury. The Society also voted to repeal the previous vote stipulating all monies due to the Society be paid on account of "the present time being hard for business." Present at the meeting: Cudjo Gibbs (President), Abraham Casey (Vice President), Newport Gardner (Secretary), Ceasar Wanton (Treasurer), Zingo Stevens, John Davice, Cudjo Hicks, Henry Clarke, and Newport Eldrich. Absent: Jacob Gardner, Thomas Cahoone, Quarm Bowers, Cuffee Benson, and Cuffee Mumford.
