Continuation of minutes from a meeting of the Committee of the African Union Society on August 1, 1793. Page also includes minutes from an annual meeting of the African Union Society on August 8, 1793, at which officers and committeemen were chosen, including Charles Chaloner as president, Lymas Keith as vice president, Anthony Taylor as judge, Arthur Tikey as treasurer, and Newport Gardner as secretary. Zingo Stevens, Prince Amy, Thomas Ferguson, Scipio Tanner, Cudjo Gibbs, Cubbeer Rodman, Primus Thurston, and Newport Gardner chosen as representatives or committeemen. Includes list of contributions totaling 18 shillings and 5 pence. Minutes also include a copy of Caesar Lyndon's letter of resignation as secretary of the African Union Society, dated August 7, 1793, in which Lyndon explains that he is unwilling to serve as secretary without receiving payment for his labor. Lyndon's letter was read before the members, and it was determined the secretary would prepare an answer and present it before the Committee at their next meeting.
