Minutes from a meeting of the Six Committeemen "and Other Members" of the African Union Society on October 7, 1790, held at the house of Abraham Casey at which Arthur Tikey, Treasurer, brought "6 pounds and 11 pence halfpenny" and an order for 2 shillings in order to pay for a horse and carriage to carry the remains of Newport Carr. Minutes also include (1) a note that Richard Vickery borrowed the "Book respecting the Settlement of whites and Blacks at Africa;" (2) note that Anthony Talor moved that the secretary should not contribute funds at the quarterly meetings and instead have his contribution deducted from his salary; and (3) the order for the secretary to draw up a recommendation for the Society to purchase two tickets in the "Commonwealth of Massachusetts Semi-annual State Lottery."
