Black and white photograph of a large study or library in the William Watts Sherman House located at 2 Shepard Avenue, Newport, Rhode Island. This photograph was captured by Newport photographer, William King Covell, on September 17, 1949. The photograph features several large bookcases lining the walls, herringbone hard-wood flooring, and an ornate ceiling molding design. The estate was originally built in the late 1870s and still stands in its original location. Salve Regina University purchased the estate in 1982.
