Photograph of the gardens in the backyard of the Chetwode Estate that formerly stood on Bellevue Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island. This photograph, captured on Christmas Eve of 1930, shows the gardens covered in snow. The home was designed in 1903 by Horace Trumbauer as a summer home for Mrs. WIlliam Storrs Wells and her family. The estate no longer stands in Newport as it was severely damaged in 1972 by a fire and demolished in 1973.
