Photograph of the William Watts Sherman House located on Shepherd Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island. The home was originally built in 1874 and between 1879 and 1881, alterations were made by renowned architectural firm, McKim, Mead, and White. The estate still stands today as a part of the Salve Regina University campus. This copy photograph (of a circa 1787 original) was captured by William King Covell in 1949.
