Description
A photograph depiciting a patriotic display for "Old Home Week" in Washington Square, looking west towards the Brick Market. Decorations include bunting and flags on several buildings and on ropes hung over the street. In addition, a large archway can be seen over street railroad tracks on Washington Square. The arch includes sign with the following phrases:

"The Hero of Lake Erie/Oliver Hazard Perry"
"Don't Give Up the Ship"
" 'We have met the enemy and they are ours' "

A street railroad car is visible at center with a "Providence" sign. The Brick Market is seen as a retail store (after ceasing function as City Hall in 1900).
