Description
One of a set Windsor side chairs with a fan-back made of tulip and ash. Original green painted legs and backs; seats have original "grained" decoration imitating mahogany. Made in Rhode Island or Connecticut. Ref: Dean Fales, "American Painted Furniture". Made For Eliphal Sowle (B. 1743, M. 1760), ancestor of Wilbour Family.
