Description
Cabinet photograph of an unidentified Black woman, possibly E. Jackson, seated on a studio set wearing a skirt and long sleeved bodice with buttons along the front and at the cuffs, and a lace collar tied in a bow at the neckline. A multi-strand chain is looped around one of the bodice buttons and pinned at left side of her waist, possibly connected to a pocket watch. The photograph was captured by L. W. Cook, located at 145 Tremont Street and 367 Washington Street, Boston, Massachusetts. Writing on the verso reads “E. Jackson, No 2, 1880.”
