Description
Cyanotype album compiled by Walter Shea, showing pictures of him and his family, and various Newport scenes. The album depicts the life of a working class Irish family in Newport in the late 19th century. Also pictured is Newport Harbor, a smoke stack on a wharf, the railway station at the Basin in the Point neighborhood, the interior of a fire station, the cove, the Hartford Dredging Co off Thames Street, the Shenandoah ship, Washington Street looking west, Washington Square, Fort Dumpling, and a Black man driving a carriage.
