Two ties are located at center back; skirt is gathered into cartridge pleats at this area only. A black grosgrain ribbon and two hook closures are sewn to center back. Lined with a plain weave brown fabric, most likely silk. Hand-quilting along bottom edge. Skirt was most likely intended to be worn with a matching bodice that covered the waistband.
