Description
Small square piece of black cloth. "This piece of cloth was cut from the uniform coat worn by George [Peitchard] 1st Sargeant company E: 16th regiment, Maine Volunteers. Infantry at the seige of Fort Hudson, LA. May to July 1863. Also in the Department of the South under General Sherman 1865 and finally at the muster out of the regiment at Bangor, Maine, May 10, 1865."
